My apologies for being so tardy to update this site. From 2011, I became a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Transcultural Nursing (Impact factor: 0.953). Also, I had the great honor of serving as Chairperson of the 18th Annual Conference of Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing, and this kept me extremely busy through the summer of 2011. The conference attracted a record 1,569 participants, and was a great success, for which I am deeply grateful to everyone involved.
Also in 2011, my paper on the Concentric Sphere Family Environment Theory (CSFET)/Concentric Sphere Family Environment Model CSFEM), the development of which I have worked on for over 10 years, was finally published in the Journal of Transcultural Nursing, serving to underscore my status as a nursing theorist.

It looks like this site will be updated once a year. The biggest event affecting me in 2009 was the establishment of the International Family Nursing Association (IFNA), to which I was elected to the Board of Directors. At present the six directors are regularly communicating via conference calls and e-mails to steer the direction of the newly founded IFNA.

March 3, 2009

From the Internet's early stages I have been a heavy user. I first made a public space on the Web in 1993. This was the year when the first Web browsers enabling text combined with graphics had just been developed, and also the year when the first commercial applications for the Internet had begun in Japan. Having an interest in computer science, I sought to merge this field with health care. Subsequently by continuing to observe the dark side as well as the bright side of the Internet, I refrained from updates. While it may be difficult to always be able to update this site on a regular basis, today I have updated it to report and record matters related to my current situation.
